Ah! Diwali. There’s so much to love about the festival: from sharing sweets and gifts with loved ones to illuminating the whole house with strings of lights, candles, and diyas; from going all out with rich, decadent dishes to decking up the hall with colorful rangoli and expressing creativity, joy – and love – through crazy crackers in the sky.
And then, of course, the reason to don the most dazzling outfit for the festival further enriches the mood of celebrations. The excitement is unreal but so is the Continue reading

Question: Where does one go looking for ethnic wear that is rooted in tradition yet is so chic to make you look effortlessly stylish?

Dussehra, Diwali, Durga Puja have just passed and now it’s time for Christmas and wedding bells. No wonder, it’s a common sight to see people shopping in the malls, shopping complexes, browsing dresses and other things at online shopping sites like Stylecaret, Amazon or Flipkart.
Since India is a country that is known for its culture and tradition, most of the women prefer to wear clothes that are more related or close to their culture rather than being outright western. Coming to traditional Indian dresses, there are a lot of options but one dress that stands out among all and is preferred by women of all age groups is the kurti.
Hello lovely ladies,
Do you know as desi girls, which is our favorite, go-to ethnic style?

Makes sense too – because not only are salwar suits the most comfy, every day ethnic wear items but they can also be styled as great party wear choices for many formal and festival occasions. And if you’re a desi girl like me, who always ends up filling her online shopping cart with familiar designs year after year, here’s some new salwar suit style inspiration to rock your desi swag in a fresh look. Online shopping after a stressful week is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I’d relax on my bed, grab a cup of coffee and cruise through my favorite shopping website (read Jabong) looking for any affordable fashion find I can get myself as a budget weekend treat.
Sure, I do love visiting the mall and local fashion boutiques for big brands and custom-made Indian ethnic kurtis, but some of my favorite summer fashion kurtis don’t reside at big stores or boutiques. And if they do, the prices aren’t lucrative. Continue reading
The entire last week was spent cleaning up everything before Diwali. I got so busy with the cleaning spree that one of my most favorite part of Diwali Celebrations, ‘what to wear this Diwali’ just skipped from my mind.
While growing up, I always enjoyed the sight of women dressed in traditional clothes gathering at the temple with their ‘diyas’ and ‘puja ki thalis’ and thereby lighting up the whole atmosphere with their aura. Though, I am mostly a jeans and a tee person, I love traditional Indian clothes. They’re beautiful and look classy.
Diwali gives us a chance to dress in traditional silhouettes and make heads turn wherever we step into. I have a simple long kesari kurti in chiffon fabric with karshmiri embroidery, which I plan to wear for this Diwali with matching leggings. Continue reading

It is truly said, no attire can bring out the natural beauty of a woman as gracefully and sensuously as does a traditional Indian saree. No wonder, saree remains a hot favorite among our bollywood divas, no matter what the season or what the trend. Continue reading
The dressing preferences have changed a lot over time for Indian women. Their wardrobe has been revamped with different types of western wear but still traditional outfits have their own unique corner in the closet.
When it comes to special occasions and functions, Indian women still prefer to adorn Indian ethnic wear, as no other outfit can enhance the natural beauty and charm of an Indian woman as a well draped saree or a nicely stitched salwar kameez set. Ethnic wear on women depicts charm, grace, poise, culture, elegance and dignity. Continue reading
