The Story Behind:

 I am a recent fan of colored eye pencils. So when I was hanging around aimlessly in a shopping mall, where my hubby was trying t-shirts, I was automatically drawn to the makeup counter of the mall. Despite, drowning in a pool of different eye color pencils, shadows, and liners, two polite girls from Maybelline counter succeeded in convincing me to buy two of Maybelline Eye Studio Vivid and Smooth Liners in Peacock Green and Maroon shade.

I am going to review the shade Peacock Green in this post. Although, the name of the shade is nowhere mentioned on the packaging. I tried the shade last week-end on an evening out with hubby and friends.

The Story Behind:

When it comes to hair care and hair products, I am rather vain. I do not frequently change my shampoo, until I find a really good reason to switch. Of late, I had been using a mix of TRESemme Split Remedy Split Rescue shampoo and Dove Therapy Dandruff Care for clean, smooth, and dandruff free hair.

Although, I was getting good results from the combination, the shampoos contain a lot of chemicals. And hence are far removed from being my Holy Grail shampoos. So when I first saw the bottle of New Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo that read ‘Paraben Free’, I was tempted to try it.  Continue reading

The Story Behind:

I am a Dove a girl. I had been using Dove products much before I started experimenting with all other fancy brands and luxurious cosmetics. I was first introduced to Dove by my mom, when I was a teenager. Back then, there was no concept of body washes, bath gels, shower gels, body butters, cream baths and body lotions that we have now. The original Dove soap was the only soap that was gentle enough for my sensitive skin.

Dove stood me in good stead. Despite having a dry skin, I was often called as the girl with the ‘marble skin’ during my college days. Thanks to the ¼ moisturizing cream in this bathing bar, it used to leave my skin wonderfully soft, white, and smooth. Moving to Mumbai, however, I moved my loyalties.

The road to a beautiful skin doesn’t have to be difficult. But if you are recently back from a trip to the beach, flawless skin may seem like a distant dream. Although, catching waves at the beach means a lot of fun, it also means a great deal of tanning and irritating sun burns.

Tan is sexy, no doubt. I loved the glorious bronze look of my arms, legs, face and neck after I returned home from a lovely holiday in Thailand. But the penetrating sun rays also soak in the moisture from your skin, making it dry and frail. Within a week your beautiful bronze look is turned into ugly darkening and uneven skin tone.

Sorry, for taking so long in posting my next review. I was away for a long holiday in Thailand and was in no mood to let anything tamper with those sweet and sassy memories of the trip. With love in the air, winter is expected to be still around the corner. One of my favorite winter pass time is to cuddle in the quilt with some interesting book, freshly baked cookies, and beat the chill with copious mugs of hot creamy coffee. While, I love everything about winters – food, festivals, bonfires and coffee dates, my hair actually dread this cold weather. Frosty winds take all the moisture and luster off my hair.

I have normal to dry hair that become excessively dry and limp with the onset of winter season. When I first saw the advertisement for Godrej Expert Rich Creme Hair Color on TV, I could instantly identify with the situation to the one at home. The only difference is unlike Parizad (Mom in TV commercial) who was hesitant about coloring her hair, my mother-in-law who had always used traditional hair color was hesitant about the new creme hair colors in the market. Her biggest concern was the high price tag that comes with these creme hair colors.

Well, this is not just her concern but a concern of majority of Indian women. With this year coming to an end and another year looking right in our eyes with the promise of new hopes, dreams and ambitions, it is time to rejoice and celebrate. It is also a time to reflect and ponder. Today, when I look at Road To Beauty, I feel happy. I feel beautiful. Road2beauty is the epitome of my journey (and now your journey too) to the only goal of my life, to become beautiful.

Growing up, I always wanted to be beautiful. I never felt I was pretty enough. Even when somebody would compliment me or told me I am beautiful, I never believed those. I could never see or feel my beauty. Over the years, it only got worse. I always saw the ugly ducking in the mirror. The pressure put by images of flawless models on the covers of magazines, TV ads, internet was too overwhelming.
