The Story Behind:

I had always been proud of my mother in law’s skin. Even at the age of 60, she has stunning skin. When I first learnt, some five years ago, around the time of my marriage that she had never used anything on her facial skin, I was really taken by surprise. Her natural glow was impossible to miss.

However, with tough things happening in her life over the course of years, she lost her glorious complexion to fine lines, stress, and wrinkles. So when my hubby asked me what to bring for his darling mom from his last trip to Dubai, I had no second thought about getting an effective anti aging product for her.

My first ever November 2013 Vellvette bag/box arrived today. I simply can’t hold my excitement! And so I logged in to share my pleasure! So far, I had only read reviews of vellvette box products on other people’s blogs. Today, I got my own!! Its’s a cute satin pouch, hot pink in color with black polka dots. Loved the color combo with pink being my favorite color. Small size and satiny texture make this perfect to carry around as your travel make-up kit. Cheers to Vellvette!

Now about the contents. Theme of this month’s vellvette bag is ‘Band Baja Beauty’. The Story Behind:

Come winters and comes the early morning after bath ritual of my husband slapping a thin layer of Pond’s cold cream all over his face and hands. As he carries on with his daily practice of protecting his skin from harsh winters before stepping out of the house, the familiar fragrance of this moisturizing cold cream from Pond’s reminds me of the first beauty ritual I learned from my Grand ma.

My Grand ma never had a facial and never used any fancy skincare and anti ageing products we use today but her skin looked flawless! Good food, pleasant environment, you would say. But more specifically, it was her diligent use of Pond’s cold cream before going to bed. Every night she would put on a thick layer of Pond’s cold cream and swipe it off revealing the most luminous skin underneath.

By launching the country’s first CC Cream in India, Lakme has once again proved that it is the market leader in Indian skincare and beauty industry. When I first learnt about the entry of BB Creams in India, I got really excited. All my excitement, however met with disappointment, when most BB Creams from various cosmetic brands failed to fulfill my expectations of a ‘Blemish Balm‘. Some were either too oily and some were either too expensive.

But the problem with most BB Creams in India is that there are a very limited number of shades available. Infact, two of the major beauty brands in India, Ponds and Garnier have come up with only one shade of BB Cream for all skin colors! I was still on the look out of a perfect BB Cream, when Lakme introduced its CC Cream in India.

Its been long I hadn’t posted any product review. Its not that my love for skincare products has saturated or I have finally found my HG skincare regimen to have stopped experimenting with myriad products. Its just that none of the products I used in the last month, impressed me enough to deserve a review.

After all, its much easy to write about a product you like than about a product you don’t. Anti Aging Cream Guide

I was just wondering that when in real life miracles never come that often, how come we get to know about a new miracle beauty product or anti aging potion by cosmetic and skin care companies month after month and sometimes times even, day after day? Isn’t this strange and ridiculous?

When each time a new anti aging product is launched and hailed as the best and most effective product under the said category, it gets my curiosity conjuring. The Story Behind: With all the hype going around about the splendorous benefits of Maybelline Baby Lips, I was finally tempted to give them a try. True to their name, they come in highly cute baby-like packaging. Of course, I was expecting the same gentle and baby soft results too. But I am very sorry to say, for me, Maybelline Baby Lips failed to meet my expected benefits galore. Baby Lips fans, please excuse me, this is my opinion and I have nothing against you! So before I go on to review, I must tell you, I have a very sensitive skin and very sensitive lips that are much better off with vaseline petroleum jelly or plain natural lip balms over tinted ones!
