This post comes as my entry for TRESemme Split Remedy Contest hosted by IndiBloggerThanks to TRESemme for making me try their wonderful product and thanks to IndiBlogger for making me express my opinion of the product through their amazing contest.

Call it a coincidence or call it a miracle. The contest for TRESemme Split Remedy pack came at a time, when I was actually looking for a solution for my damaged hair problem! This is my first participation in the IndiBlogger Blogging Contest and I promise none of my eagerness to participate and win the contest will come in the way of an unbiased product review.

So here comes my authentic review of TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner pack:

The Story Behind:

All those who are regular readers of my blog know that I have recently returned from a trip to the beach. And since I had been doing a lot of travelling lately, my hair care had gone all awry. My hairs were in such bad shape that I could easily pass on for a role of a witch in some Bollywood horror film. Looking at my pictures was a scary moment indeed. I yelped in fear when my hair looked like ‘Jhaadu’ in most of the photos.

“Get a hair-cut” suggested most of my concerned friends. With such lifeless hair and breaking strands, cutting the ends seemed the only right thing to do. At least, cutting off those twigs would make my hair look a little decent if not totally lustrous and gorgeous. And it so happened, just when I was about to go for a hair-cut, arrived my sample of TRESemme Split Remedy pack with a tag line: “….endings should never be cut short”!

And I stopped looking for a ‘short cut’.

My Experience of the Pack:

The samples came in a beautifully packaged black satin bag. The pack contained a bottle each of 90 g split rescue shampoo and conditioner with a promise to rescue up to 96% of the split ends. Tall claim indeed! I believed anyhow. Just wanted to get rid my split end problem. Its more than one month now, I am using the products.

Although, the products have not miraculously transformed all my split ends but they have indeed controlled the problem greatly. I do have some split ends but my hair look much softer, smoother and shinier than before. Also, after using TRESemme split remedy, I have not experienced any new split ends.

TRESemme Split Remedy, Split Rescue Shampoo – 90 ml for Rs. 80

TRESemme Split Remedy, Split Rescue Conditioner – 90 ml for Rs. 80

My Experience with TRESemme Split Remedy Split Rescue Shampoo:

The medium size TRESemme split remedy split rescue shampoo comes in a sturdy black colored bottle with a press open cap. The shampoo has a slightly creamy texture with a silvery white color. The press open cap delivers just the right amount of product without any leakage or spilling. For my shoulder length hair, the coin sized amount was enough for gentle cleansing. It lathered really well making my hair feel squeaky clean after wash.

My Experience with TRESemme Split Remedy Split Rescue Conditioner:

Unlike, the shampoo, TRESemme split remedy split rescue comes in a white colored bottle with a press open cap. The conditioner is neither too thick and nor too light. I have fine shoulder length hair prone to dryness and breakage. I am very particular with conditioners as heavy conditioners weigh down on my hair while the light ones make my hair feel craving for more moisture. TRESemme split remedy conditioner has just the right consistency to suit my hair. My hair felt soft and bouncy even after 2 days of using the products.

  • Inexpensive
  • Readily available
  • Shampoo lathers well
  • Creamy texture of conditioner spreads easily and softens each shaft
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Both products leave hair soft and shiny
  • Pleasant fruity fragrance

  • Do not produce any dramatic or miraculous results
  • Contain chemicals
  • Conditioner may weigh down very fine and light hair

Overall Take:

Overall, Split Remedy Split Rescue range from TRESemme is a wonderful innovation from the company. I had already heard a lot about the goodness of TRESemme products from friends and relatives. But this is the first time I have used the products myself. Just like the elusive fountain of youth, there are also no miracle products. So while, the product is not miraculous, it is also not disappointing.

In fact the product has worked well for my hair condition. My hair behave so much well now. And over a month of consistent use I have even noticed an increase in length and health of my hair.

Best Part: Saved me from cutting my mane short.

Rating: 4.5/5

Would I recommend: Yes. I would greatly recommend the product to all those beauties with dry and damaged hair. If you have split end problem, the product is certainly worth a try. However, don’t expect dramatic results overnight.
