Sunsilk Pink Lusciously Thick & Long Shampoo
I first used this shampoo when I didn’t even know the meaning of hair care and hair care products. It was just a shampoo to me. Every week my Mom used to wash my sister’s hair and my hair with this shampoo. We loved the silky feel and nice fragrance it imparted on our hair. The fragrance lingered on for 2 to 3 days.
While, Mom stuck to her shampoo, I moved on. When I moved to Mumbai, I got introduced to a plethora of new hair care products. Hair care no longer limited to overnight oiling and shampooing. I learnt about conditioners, cleansers, mousse, gels, masks, serums, sprays and how all these are necessary to maintain a good mane.
Beginning with Heads & Shoulders, I experimented with Pantene, Garnier, Dove, and L’Oreal and then moved on to high end professional products from L’Oreal, Wella, Schwarzkopf and even Kerastase. Settling with Schwarzkopf BC Repair Rescue shampoo, I had been using this product from last year with good results.
After bad experiences with most hair cleansers, Schwarzkopf was my Holy Grail product until recently when I started noticing a certain kind of dullness and roughness to my hair. Not having a heart to spend on a luxury product and later regret on the money wasted, I thought of experimenting with my oldest shampoo.

My Experience with the Shampoo
I bought the smallest travel size bottle of 80 ml. The bottle comes in a very cute magenta color packaging that can be easily carried in your hand bag. The slender shape makes it very handy and easy to use. The shampoo is of lotion like consistency, which is neither too thick and nor too runny. It lathers easily and makes rich foam even in hard water or oily hair. The best part however is the pink color and sweet floral fragrance that stays for long.
After 5 minutes of massaging the shampoo well into my hair and scalp, my hair felt totally clean and light. The shampoo cost me 56 bucks and I got a conditioner worth Rs 20 free this pack. Quite a deal!
Now as per the brand claims of this shampoo containing Keratin Yoghurt Nutri Complex for lusciously thick and long hair, I have to say, I didn’t notice any such results after using this shampoo. But all I can say is, the shampoo does indeed give me soft and shiny hair every time I wash my hair.
Good:
- Cleans hair perfectly
• Makes good lather
• Neither drying nor moisturizing
• Highly affordable price
• Easily available even in remote areas
• Nice fragrance
• Does not cause hair fall
• Removes product build up
Bad:
- Not nourishing
• Not suitable for extremely dry hair
• Cannot be used every day due to chemical content
My Final Take:
Overall, it is a good shampoo that does its job decently. And given the fact this shampoo does a perfect job in cleaning the hair and scalp and getting rid of all dirt, dirt, grim, product build-up, it is worth the price. After all, the primary job of any shampoo is to clean the hair and scalp.
However, if you are looking for a nourishing or treatment product for problems such as dandruff, hair fall, dryness, hair thinning etc., the shampoo is not for you. Otherwise, a great shampoo to fall back upon if you are looking for a change or a break from your regular shampoo.
