House of chikankari kurta review

Just two days to go before Christmas. Hope you all have got your trees up. As for me, I am always a drag for such things. But one thing I’ve done this year to make my Christmas special is sip a different tea each day starting from the beginning of this month.

So, this morning the tea I have in my cup is not the standard-issue Assam black tea but Vahdam India Vanilla Spiced Masala Chai, an aromatic spicy blend flavoured with creamy vanilla and cool cappuccino.

And girls, this is SO good – smooth and rich with just the right touch of vanilla. The aroma draws you in like a balmy fire on a cold winter eve. I love the way it makes me feel so warm and cozy inside. Now while I get down with my tea, I think you might like getting down with my latest purchase from the website The House of Chikankari.

So, without further ado, I’ll take you guys straight to today’s review

My Review of the House of Chikankari Kurta and online shopping experience

house of chikankari kurta review

Nothing looks more mesmerizing than wearing a hand-embroidered chikankari kurta in premium cotton fabric. I’ve always been a sucker for hand-embroidered stuff, be it Lucknow chikankari embroidery or Kashmiri aari work. Man – they look so delicate and exquisite!

But being in Ludhiana, it’s really hard to find authentic chikankari garments. And even if you do, they either don’t fit well or are priced too high. So, when I came across the House of Chikankari shopping website, I felt I hit a jackpot! It was such a pleasure exploring their delightful collection of chikankari kurtas and dresses.

Frantically scrolling the store for an hour like a mad woman, I finally zeroed in on this yellow mulmul kurta with white chikankari embroidery.

Fabric quality and embroidery

Unboxing and feeling the actual product in my hands was a pure delight. Girls, the fabric feels so soft to the touch! I must say the quality is seriously up to the mark.

It is 100% pure cotton fabric. The chikankari work is simply superb. The heavy embroidery work done on the front, back, and sleeves is detailed and intricate, making this kurta a true statement piece.

Size and fits

The kurta is available in almost all sizes, from XXS to XXL. The size chart is clear and precise. Since there are no margins for alteration, it’s better to go through their size chart well before placing your order. I ordered mine in size XXS and I love the way it falls and fits in a relaxed way on my small body frame.

The kurta has a 47-inch length, round neck, ¾ sleeves, and side slits. The fits are straight to flatter most body types.

Shipping and delivery

The House of Chikankari offers free shipping on all their products for Indian residents and orders over USD 200 for those residing outside India. The orders are dispatched within 2-4 working days.

I received my kurta within 5 days of placing the order.

Packaging

The thoughtful packaging was the first thing I noticed about the brand. The Kurti was neatly packaged in a lovely chikankari bag. A stitch-guide card was also included in the parcel. How sweet!

How do I plan to style?

I plan to style this kurta in two looks – with white chikankari palazzos for a contemporary look and with traditional churidars to keep it chic and classic.

Would I repurchase from this website again?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

I love chikankari embroidery. I loved the product quality. I loved the fits. And I loved the overall experience of shopping at the House of Chikankari. So yes, I am going to repurchase from this online website again.

R2B Rating:
