Now that the electrifying Lakme Fashion Week 2014 is finally over, it is time to sit back and ponder over the runway trends. So lovelies, I invite you to brew yourselves a cup of tea, grab some biscuits and have a look at the top trends of Lakme Fashion Week.
LFW, India’s biggest fashion fest is held twice annually to dictate the top trends for the upcoming season. Featuring ninety eight designers, countless breathtaking creations, the fashion fest spanned a period of five week days.
Here are the seven latest trends hot off from Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2014 that you all can use to get fashion ready in no time:
Asymmetrical Hemlines:
They have been around from quite some time and are going to stay. Western or traditional, contemporary or ethnic, asymmetrical hemlines showed up to be a priority with designers. Best part; they look great on most body types.
Flowing and Free Spirited Outfits:
Using a mix of varied fabrics, designers really painted a larger than life feel with their flowing and free spirited creations. If you love drama in your styles, these are the must-have outfits for your wardrobe.
Unique Draping Style:
It seems that designers have decided to play around a lot more this season. One trend that I noticed both in bridal wear at Wedding Asia Expo 2014 and trendy wear at Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2014 is the unique draping style of garments. So girls up your style quotient by experimenting and playing around with not just the saris but other pre-stitched outfits as well.
Pastel Tints and Color Blocking:
Pastel tints are a big hit this season. And along with them are bright colors in blocking trend. So while you fancy yourself in that tinted candy color dress, remember, being loud can look good too!
Floral Prints:
Flowers are going to bloom this winter with designers going out and out to give us extraordinary floral prints for both guys and girls. Girls, don them as much as you can in your skirts, fitted dresses, jump suits and even in bridal lehengas! Don’t believe me? Look at Nargis Fakhri’s show-stopping floral lehenga in baby pink.
Abstract Theme and Digital Prints:
If you really want to ring in style, infuse yourself with abstract themes and digital prints. This is where the amazing creativity of our designers lies! Donning digitally printed Indian miniature paintings on contemporary outfits is a sure way to edge up your style.
Metallic Hues:
All that glitters is definitely gold! Metallic hues are hot this season. You better bring out your bling with gold, silver, copper, or cobalt, whichever hue suits your personality.
