olay1The Story Behind:

Its been long I hadn’t posted any product review. Its not that my love for skincare products has saturated or I have finally found my HG skincare regimen to have stopped experimenting with myriad products. Its just that none of the products I used in the last month, impressed me enough to deserve a review.

After all, its much easy to write about a product you like than about a product you don’t. I had heard a lot about the effectiveness of Olay products and have also used a couple of their products in the past with good results. This time, when my husband brought Olay Natural White All in One Fairness Kit from his last trip to Dubai, I got really excited.

My Experience with Olay Natural White All in One Fairness Cream:

Its been almost 20 days now that I am using this cream and so fair enough time for the review. The cream comes in a small decent tub and has been there in the market from quite a long time now. Despite being a true worshiper of creams and potions, when it comes to night creams, I get really paranoid. The fact that night creams generally tend to be greasy and gooey, makes me feel conscious of these beauties.

But quite to my astonishment and excitement, this fairness night cream from Olay just seeps into the skin quickly without leaving any residue or greasy texture behind. Also, unlike other fairness creams, it does not leave a white cast either. Its feathery texture and mild floral scent is perfect for bed time. The cream has a slight pink tinge to it making the whole experience all the more feminine and pleasing.

Every time I apply this cream after washing my face in the night, it gives me the feeling of wearing a soft satin pink night suit after bath! Excuse me for the metaphor but this is how I feel about this night cream. Yes, the cream also does its job well of nourishing the skin, which should be primary for any good and effective night cream.

Effectiveness:

Its been 20 days and I have noticed a slight difference in my skin texture. Of course, not in the whitening department but it has definitely imparted a kind of radiance to my skin. The cream claims to nourish the skin with its triple nutrient formula – Vitamins B3, pro-B5 & E. With Niacinamide, a proven anti aging and skin whitening ingredient, as its active ingredient feel assured of the product’s effectiveness as a nourishing night cream.

Quantity: 50 gms

Price: 325/-

Good:

  • Non greasy, non sticky
  • Does not leave a white cast
  • Absorbs quickly
  • Gives a feathery finish
  • Makes your skin wake up with a nice glow, the next morning
  • Mild pleasing scent
  • Nourishing formula
  • Contains Niacinamide
  • Brightens skin
  • Beautiful baby pink color and satiny texture

Bad:

  • Not very attractive and eye catchy packaging like some other night creams of different brands
  • Digging fingers in the tub can be unhygenic
  • Contains chemicals like parabens
  • Not so travel friendly

My Final Take:

Overall, I liked this cream. I have combination skin, which gets really oily in summers and dry in winters. As the cream has a way of adapting to the skin, I found this cream to be perfect for my skin type. It neither makes my skin look gooey nor leave it craving for moisture. The cream does its job well of nourishing the skin but if you are looking for dramatic results or noticeable whitening, the cream is not for you.

Rating: 4/5

Will I Buy Again: Yes, but not now, may be later as I get bored with products very soon.

PS.: For better results, use it with Olay Natural White All in One Fairness Face Wash and Olay Natural White All in One Fairness Day Cream.

hi, I too have acne problem. can I use both the day and night olay creams? will it help improving the acne problem and clear the spots which I have with pimples?

    • A prescription fade cream from a dermatologist can only help in clearing spots. Olay creams are generally not recommended for acne prone skin.

Is it reduce any dark spot, blemish pimple marks ? Plz reply

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

It does but takes a lot of time. For effective and quick recovery of dark spots and blemishes use some prescription lightening cream containing glycolic acid or kojic acid. Consult your dermatologist for some good lightener.

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

Hi Simmi. Olay natural white may cause break outs or make your skin greasy in summers if you already have very oily skin. However, it is a good cream for winters. The cream is good for people in 20s and 30s age group.

Pls can olay day creame fairness make my skin fair and white

The color and texture of your skin depends on lots of factors like lifestyle, age, food, genes etc & not just on the skin care products you use.

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

Hi komal; Olay natural white night cream basically suits normal to dry skin. For oily skin with pimple marks; its better to use ponds white beauty.

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

Hi Anam for oily skin its better to use ponds white beauty.

  16. Anshulika Chawla at Reply

Hi dear, at 17 I would suggest you to use Pond’s white beauty or Olay Natural White instant glowing fairness cream. Skin generally tends to look dark in hot and humid weather.
Try to use mattifying creams or lotions during day time.

hi. when i started using both the night and day cream, i started to have pimples.

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

Olay creams are not so suitable for oily skin. If u have oily skin; try to avoid using this cream.

  18. Renze at Reply

im not that oily. except when im out in the sun for such a long time and get sweat.

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

O dear, it probably might not be suiting your skin. Try switching brands or consult a derm for expert advice.

my skin is acne prone and oily. can I use olay night cream or I should only use after acne disappear?????

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

Hello mickey. Better to use it after your acne disappear. as it may worsen the condition now.

  22. hi, thx for the review. I’ve only used this olay natural white night cream a couple of times.. once a few months back and then tried again about 2 days back and have both times developed a rash all over my face and neck. There are tiny bumps all over my skin. Have immediately stopped using the cream. Would you be able to suggest something I can do to ease the rash please?

    Thanks

    • Anshulika Chawla at Reply

Try using Flutibact cream or calamine lotion on the rashes for a few weeks before applying moisturizer. Use cetaphil moisturizer and cleanser.

    • Sherazi at Reply

Same thing happened with me. I have also used the same cream few years before and its results were awesome thats why i tried it again but got rash instead of glow 😂

  23. There are many fairness creams in the market which can be harmful to the skin. It is always better to opt creams with natural ingredients and no usage of steroids in the making of the product. Natural creams are always better for your skin without any side effects reported.
