The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Skincare Range Review

About two months backs, at the start of this cold season to be precise, I was facing a really bad dull skin issue. My face looked drab with big pores, dark spots, and patchy skin. As if not enough, the fines around my mouth and between the brows too suddenly started to make their appearance felt like some planned conspiracy against my vanity!

Fearing for my complexion, while also desiring to try something new, as I always do, I decided to try the much raved about White Seed Brightening Skincare Range by the famous Korean beauty brand The Face Shop. I’d already heard some great reviews of this skincare line and it’s samples were lying with me untouched since Summer.

And so began my new Korean white seed brightening skincare regime. Three days on and my skin started to get better. I know it sounds like an awful infomercial but seriously guys, I’m not kidding! I actually saw dramatic improvements in my skin texture. Now I know why they say that Korean skincare technology is 7 years ahead of what’s happening elsewhere in the world in the field of skincare and beauty.

So without any further ado, I’ll take you guys straight to this day’s review

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Skincare Range Review

Describe the brand in three words:

Korean. Nature-inspired. Effective.

Products tested:

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Serum

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Lotion

What it is?

The Face Shop white seed brightening skincare line is a superior range of whitening and brightening skincare products (toner, serum, and moisturizer) to bring back the lost radiance and add youthful glow to the skin.

The range is infused with active botanicals and natural ingredients like White Lupin Seed and White Daisy, which contain Hexylresorcinol & other actives to lighten and brighten the skin.

Who is it for?

The range is basically designed to add luminosity and natural glow to the skin. Any one with dull, dark, and drab looking skin is best candidate for the range. By design, texture, and ingredients, the range would suit almost all skin types normal, oily, combination and dry skin.

What’s in it?

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner

White lupin seed, white daisy, white tea extracts and purified water.

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Serum

White lupin seed, white daisy, purified water and longan extracts.

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Lotion

Purified water, goji berry extract, white lupin seed and white daisy extracts.

What’s not in it?

The Face Shop White Seed brightening range is free from 7 notorious chemicals rampantly used in most skincare products. The range does not contain any mineral oil, animal derivatives, parabens, tar color, talc, paraffin and polyacrylamide.

How does it smells?

The products in the range are almost odorless with a very faint light floral scent.

Possibly acne/allergy causing any ingredients?

None at all.

Suitable in pregnancy/breastfeeding?

Yes.

Suitable for summer/winter?

All weathers.

How’s the texture like?

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner

Runny, translucent texture like a mixture of water and milk.

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Serum

It’s milky white in color and has a slight thicker texture than the toner.

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Lotion

Very light-weight, non-greasy lotion that’s also milky white in color.

How do you use it?

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Toner

This takes a second step in my skincare routine, after cleansing my face with Clarins gentle foaming face wash.

While the directions on the bottle says to take out adequate amount on a cotton ball and then wipe it all over your face. But I however, take out desired amount on my palm, rub both hands together and then pat them all over my face.

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Serum

I use it after the toner. Dispense two pumps and apply all over my face and neck until absorbed.

The Face Shop White Seed Brightening Lotion

This makes the fourth step in my skincare regime before applying sunscreen. Take required amount and massage it in my skin using fingertips. By now, my skin looks perfectly hydrated and absolutely radiant.

Will you see immediate results or does it work behind the scenes?

Unlike most prescription creams or OTC whitening creams that work behind the scenes and give you results only after a period of consistent use, this is one brightening skincare range, where you’ll actually see immediate results.

Skin instantly looks softer, plumper, hydrated and brighter upon applying than before.

How long have you tested these products for?

It’s been more than two months I’m using this range. I’ve already ran out of the serum due to both AM & PM use and about to finish the toner again due to both AM & PM use.
Because I use the lotion only in my AM routine, it’s still good to go for another 15-20 days.

What it has done for your skin?

  1. Maintain skin’s hydration: Yes
  2. Restore skin’s radiance and luminosity: Yes, yes, yes.
  3. Lighten and brighten overall complexion: Yes
  4. Fade dark spots: No
  5. Even out complexion: Somewhat
  6. Diminish appearance of fine lines: No
  7. Prevents and treats wrinkles: Can’t say!
  8. Reduce appearance of large pores: Yes

Coming to the point, for me, it’s all about No.1, No. 2, No.3, and No.8. As soon as I put on all these products in sequence, my face looks like a sparkly crystal ball reflecting all the light that falls on my pearlescent skin – it’s like getting an entire spa day in just two minutes or less!

What’s good about it?

The ethos, the texture, the fragrance, and the way this range makes you look and feel – bright and alive!

It has all the goodness of natural actives sans any chemicals or harmful ingredients. Aesthetically, The Face Shop white seed brightening range truly lives up to both its name and claims. The formulas are impeccably designed to give you that gorgeous Korean glass skin experience by restoring natural radiance and youthful glow of the skin.

What’s bad about it?

This didn’t really work well for my fine lines and dark spots. May be because I’d been into a lot of acids the last couple of years that natural stuff has stopped working on my stubborn marks and lines.

Also, the reason I tried this range was to brighten up my dull complexion and to experience something new. And in that department, I must say it has worked way beyond my expectations. I’m loving my bright, bouncy skin and I’m loving The Face Shop white seed range.

R2B Rating:

5/5

Bottomline:

All assured, the range carries all the right ingredients for all the right reasons.  So it should work well for a lot of you guys. There are tons of rave reviews on the net backing its claims and supporting your decision to try it.

Korean beauty is causing a lot of stir in the skincare industry and it’s not just style over substance. I like The Face Shop, it’s a simple, yet effective Korean brand that cares less about charming bottles but more about bringing effective natural skincare solutions.

I loved their sheet masks, I loved this range and I think I’ll like their other products too.
