Pond's Triple Vitamin Body Moisturizing Lotion Review

Pond’s Triple Vitamin Body Moisturizing Lotion was the first product I bought, when my fascination for beauty and skincare started. At that time, this triple vitamin body moisturizing lotion acted as my body lotion, hand cream, foot cream, cracked heel repair cream and even sufficed as a lip balm, whenever, I ran out of one. I always had this dry skin problem and this body lotion from Ponds perfectly quenched my body’s thirst for moisture.

The lotion is pretty thick and creamy in consistency. So, while this product is great for winters, when skin needs extra care due to dry and cold weather, it may not be as great summers and humid weather. So when I moved to Mumbai, the heavy lotion coupled with the tropical weather made my skin sweaty and greasy.

I switched to lighter lotions and explored many fancy products with additional benefits. I fell in love with Dove Fresh Moisture with cucumber and green tea extract. It made my skin feel fresh and energized every time I used it. Of late my skin had been showing signs of dryness again. Despite, slathering on my favorite body lotion religiously after bath, my skin felt dry and flaky in just after 2 to 3 hours.

I had used Vaseline ‘Cocoa Radiant’ lotion for extremely dry skin in the past with brilliant results. And I went to the store to buy the same. However, the product was out of stock. Being at the month end, I was in no position to splurge on a high-end lotion. My eyes fell on Ponds Body lotion and I got reminded of my past love. I bought the bottle instantly.

My Experience with Pond’s Triple Vitamin Body Moisturizing Lotion
Pond's Triple Vitamin Body Moisturizing Lotion ReviewEven after 5 years, Ponds has not changed the packaging of their body moisturizing lotion. It comes in the same white bottle with a pink flip top cap. While, the flip top is tight, the cap is lose and if you are not careful with your use, you can run the risk of spilling all the lotion lose. Otherwise, the packaging is simple and convenient to use.
The texture is rich and I like the way it glides on the skin. It seeps into the skin quickly, making skin feel soft and velvety in an instant. It has a luscious smell that lingers on the skin for long. Those averse to strong scents may not like its powerful floral fragrance.

Pros:
• Highly economical for its benefits
• Easily available
• Sweet floral fragrance
• Good hydration
• Right consistency for a body lotion
• Contains vitamin B3, E, and C

Cons:
• Lose cap, so not very travel friendly
• Contains parabens
• Strong scent can be a problem to some
• Not suitable for summers and humid weather

My Final Take:

It can be a love-hate product for anyone depending upon the skin. While, the product is good for dry skin beauties, it provides only simple hydration and nothing beyond that. So, if you are looking for additional benefits such as lightening, tightening, antioxidants, UV protection, collagen stimulation, etc., the product is not for you.
Also, Pond’s Triple Vitamin Body Moisturizing Lotion is best for winters or girls with moderately dry skin. It will not suit beauties with extremely dry or oily skin. The scent can also be a problem to many. The best part, it is dirt cheap! So, if you are looking for an economical product simply for dry skin care in winters, the product is ideal.

Rating: 3/5

Will I Buy Again: Probably no. I will be going for Vaseline Cocoa Radiant lotion, instead. I found that best for dry skin.

Update: The post was originally published on Aug 15, 2013. Body lotion is a necessary item of daily skincare regime. Today, there are numerous kinds of body lotions available in the market from different brands. Vaseline, Dove, Nivea etc. all are effective and economical brands to take your pick from.

can i use ponds triple vitamin body lotion at my face..i have really dry skin..what should i use in summers.

    • Hi Sukhminder. Body lotions are designed for body skin and ideally should not be used on face. I would suggest you to use some nourishing face cream with spf specifically meant for your skin type and season. There are so many good options from both herbal and other drugstore brands such as Patanjali, Lotus Herbals, Olay, Neutrogena, Lakme, Pond’s etc. Take care!
