Himalaya Foot Care Cream Review

Thank-God-It’s-Friday – I’m really feeling the need for some end-of-the-week beauty catharsis.

As I sit typing this sentence, I notice that my heels are scalier than the skin of an alligator! Hell no – I missed several of my important beauty rituals this week. And pedicure being the most significant of them all.

While, it shouldn’t be much of an issue but being genetically predisposed to dry skin, I sometimes get it worse than other girls. And if you too fall into that category, you probably need all the moisturizing help you can get.

Thank God to all the amazing foot creams, you don’t always have to rely on a pedicure to get sandal ready feet. Of course, no foot cream can give you photogenic tootsies in an hour – that’s where the power of a pedicure lies. But at least a good heel repair cream or foot cream can give you presentable heels in a couple of day’s time.

So I reached for the tube of Himalaya foot care cream, lying virgin on my bathroom shelf from last few weeks (as if only waiting for this *big day*to prove its appeal for my moisture hungry feet) with high hopes.

But did Himalaya foot cream really passed the test and fulfilled my hopes of turning around my jagged heels into acceptable tootsies? Read full review to discover.

My Experience of using Himalaya Foot Care Cream for Dry Feet and Cracked Heels

While, Himalaya foot cream has been around since quite a time, it’s only recently that I’ve given it a try. The company says it prevents and protects dry, cracked or rough feet with deeply penetrating natural ingredients.

The cream contains following key botanicals for smooth, soft feet:

natural ingredients in Himalaya foot cream

Sal Tree extract is used as an ingredient in ointments for skin diseases and in ear medicines. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties help heal cracked heels.

Honey, with its bactericidal and antiseptic properties, is extremely important in Ayurveda. Used in a variety of medicines, honey is also an effective moisturizing agent.

Turmeric has been used as an antiseptic for centuries. The herb also contains strong anti-inflammatory properties, which soothe your feet gently.

Fenugreek has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicines and is an excellent moisturizer, specially formulated to hydrate dry skin. Applied externally, the herb is also beneficial for boils, abscesses and ulcers.

Ginger is used externally as a local circulatory stimulant which keeps the feet warm, preventing the skin from cracking due to the cold.”

How to use:

Cleanse feet using lukewarm water.  Pat dry and apply twice daily, once in the morning after bath and second in the night at bedtime.

Packaging:

Himalaya foot cream comes in a white plastic tube with green screw cap. The packaging is hygienic, convenient to use and highly travel-friendly.

Texture:

It’s a beige colored, thick, non-greasy cream with soft whipped-cream like texture.  It’s easy to spread and gets absorbed quickly into the skin. While, I found it somewhat lacking in fulfilling the hydration needs of excessively dry skin, I like the fact it doesn’t leave any greasy residue or heavy film behind.

Scent:

This is the best part I guess. With a mild floral fragrance, Himalaya foot cream smells better than any other medicinal foot cream in the market.

Results/Performance:

Well, the brand says, the cream gives you soft, supple feet in seven days. But because I have used the cream for only one day, I can only talk about its immediate results or one day performance.

So after using the cream for one day after bathing, I wouldn’t say that my feet are foot fetish worthy yet but I do think that my feet look and feel a little better (at least moisturized as opposed to the super scaly and ashy look of my feet immediately after bath).

Besides, my feet don’t look as dry as they used to even after a few hours after bath. I’m glad my tootsies feel soft upon touching unlike their usual scaly feel. So based upon this one time use, I do think that this cream is a good moisturizer but talking of repairing cracked heels claims in seven days; well I’m a little doubtful.

Himalaya Foot Care Cream for dry feet and cracked heelsMoreover, if I have to compare these results with some other foot creams in the market, I regret to say, this cream no-where nears those pedicure like effects of some really good high performers in the market.

And given the fact, a hefty 50 g tube costs just 110 bucks, it’s a real deal! And what about the neat, travel-friendly packaging? Not bad, right? So, big ups, Himalaya for creating this highly affordable, travel-friendly foot cream for dry feet.

So even though, I’m not abandoning my go-to Kaya foot cream but for the time being especially in this hot & humid weather, I’m liking the light texture and sweet fragrance of Himalaya foot cream for keeping my feet in acceptable condition.

Pros:

  • Highly affordable and easily available
  • Nice, travel-friendly, hygienic packaging
  • Soft, light texture gets absorbed quickly
  • Does not any greasy film or residue behind
  • Sweet floral fragrance
  • Good foot moisturizer
  • Contains natural ingredients
  • Prevents cracked heels with regular use

Cons:

  • May take long to repair cracks
  • Not suitable for winters
  • Not a substitute for pedicure

R2B Rating: 3.5/5

Overall Take:

On the whole, Himalaya foot care cream is a highly affordable daily use foot cream for all ages. While, it may take long to repair cracks, regular application of this cream would prevent cracks from occurring at the first place. I highly recommend this foot cream to all girls with dry feet.
