four ways to energize your morning routine

Are you the type that finds mornings an absolutely dreadful time of day? Do you have a hard time getting up on time, and then finding the energy to get moving and get out the door on time? Do you find it hard to focus on any one thing in the morning? If you’ve said yes to these questions then the chances are high that you aren’t exactly a morning person.

Not to worry though, here are four ways that you can begin to make changes and find ways to energize yourself in the morning. By energizing yourself, you’ll be starting the day on a more positive note, which will help you to have a more productive morning.

Stop Relying on the Snooze Button

For many people, the alarm goes off in the morning and the first thing they do is hit the snooze button. This can be repeated many times until suddenly you have no choice but to get up, and now you’ll feel rushed. The thing is you don’t actually fall back into a deep sleep, so those extra few minutes aren’t going to help. In fact, all it will do is cause stress in your morning routine.

Set Up a Bedtime Routine and Stick with It

A big part of the problem can be that you aren’t getting enough sleep or enough good quality sleep. This results in you feeling drowsy and far from energized when it’s time to wake up. It can be helpful to work on your bedtime routine and start getting more sleep each night. Things that can include picking a bedtime and sticking to it no matter what, giving yourself an hour to wind down before it’s bedtime, skipping alcohol and caffeine in the evenings, and making sure your room is dark and cool for sleeping.

Make Time for Morning Meditation

Rather than rush around in the morning, just barely making it out the door on time, why not start giving yourself enough time for a little morning meditation. By engaging in a five-minute meditation routine, you can actually boost your energy level and center your mood, brain, and even posture. If you’re new to meditation, it can be helpful to read up on it. A good place to start is with a book by Ilchi Lee, who has developed a large number of mind-body training methods.

Don’t Skip Breakfast

When you are rushing around in the morning, it can be easy to just skip breakfast for fear it will make you late, but breakfast is an essential part of your whole day. When you eat a nutritious meal in the morning, you’ll feel better physically and mentally, and it will give you the energy you need to get through until lunch.

Change the Way You Approach Your Mornings

In order to start feeling more energized in the morning, it’s necessary to change up how you approach them. By making a few changes and additions to your routine, you’ll find you have a much more positive outlook and a whole lot more energy.
